My goal is to keep students informed through posting to Google Classroom. Each day there is an announcement for what in class assignments are being completed, along with a description of what they should be doing. Students should always check Google Classroom the day they miss, and check in with me when they return.

This year I'm working towards not assigning homework, but focusing on the in class lessons and materials. Each week students will have a written response in the form of a free write/journal type writing that they will complete in a small notebook. My goal with this is to increase writing skills while also allowing students to share their own ideas. In class I will be assessing students based upon their attentiveness to their work, along with their ability to show their knowledge.

I do not believe in taking points off for late work, as I'm not assessing the ability to turn something in, but more their ability to complete the work. However, I would hope this would allow for students to develop their own time management, in an effort to better prepare themselves for the future.
