Frequently asked questions

How will Cohort A look?

Our goal is to make sure the students are continuing their studies, but also have the support of the teacher. For example here is how a week could play out:

  • Monday/Tuesday
    • Reads Chapters in class
    • Completes lesson with teacher about a topic
    • Is assigned "Virtual Assignment" on Tuesday (due by next face to face meeting)
  • Wednesday-Friday
    • Works on and completes virtual assignment
    • Read assigned chapters
    • Watch mini lesson video
    • Complete topic assignment

What if my homework is late?

I do not believe in taking points off for late work, as I'm not assessing the ability to turn something in, but more their ability to complete the work. However, I would hope this would allow for students to develop their own time management, in an effort to better prepare themselves for the future.

What if my child misses a day of school?

This year will definitely make it more difficult if a student misses a day of school. My goal is to keep parents informed through weekly updates as well as through posting to Google Classroom. My goal is record at least one of my daily in class lessons for students to be able to view if they miss the day. That will depend on the lesson, as well as the students in the room (if there are privacy concerns).
