MR. BROWN
Welcome to my website! I look forward to meeting all of you and getting the opportunity to teach you all about ELA. I teach 6th Grade English here at Indian River Middle School. I taught my first year in 2nd Grade at Evans Mill Primary, before moving to the Middle School to teach ELA.
I'm a believer in using technology in the classroom, and we will do quite a bit with it throughout the year. My hobbies outside of teaching include coaching football and baseball here at Indian River, along with spending time outdoors with my family, and competing in obstacle course races and ultra marathons. I can't wait to meet all of you! We will have an absolute blast in my room!
TOPICS
In ELA this year we will be focusing on quite a few techniques and skills. I believe in teaching these skills through mentor texts. The books we will be using are Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Great American Dust Bowl, and The Breadwinner.
